Gray Matters seeks an experienced Retail Manager to lead and grow the brand flagship store in Manhattan, NY.
The Retail Manager will excel at customer service and retail operations, while meeting sales goals and developing a loyal onsite and online audience for Gray Matters.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Growth
Drive business results to exceed sales goals.
Share product feedback and ideas with ownership to increase brand awareness, image and long-term success.
Implement and innovate around workflows, policies and procedures to improve business efficiency.
Clienteling
Provide impeccable customer service with product and brand expertise. Engage, understand and fulfill customers' needs.
Develop client relationships with particular focus on VIP clients.
Retail Operations
Open and close the store, oversee payment handling and other operational procedures. Manage store operations, inventory organization, supply ordering and all other aspects that keep the store running.
Team Building
Ensure that the Gray Matters high standards of merchandise presentation is constantly maintained.
Recruit and hire the very best team members, managing all aspects of scheduling within headcount requirements.
Conduct initial onboarding as well as ongoing training on product and systems.
Own the development of Gray Matters team members assessing talent and managing performance.
REQUIREMENTS
3-5 years of retail customer service or hospitality experience.
A strategic thinker with a proven track record of achieving results.
Confident, ambitious and stylish.
Strong public-facing customer service skills.
Spontaneous, outgoing with professional attitude.
Able to convey customers confidence providing honest and constructive advice.
Detail oriented and operationally minded with experience in systems and process implementation.
A coach and mentor who can lead a team toward a desired result.
Interest in shoes, craftsmanship, design & architecture.
Appreciation of diverse audiences and work environments.
Additional languages are a plus.
Must be available evenings, weekends and holidays.
Experience in store or business operations, inventory management and point of sale systems.

The part-time Client Advisor will delight customers with product knowledge and customer service skills while meeting sales goals and developing a loyal onsite and online audience for Gray Matters.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Providing impeccable customer service by engaging, understanding, and fulfilling customers' needs.
Actively maintain high standards of merchandise presentation, visually and verbally.
Efficiently and accurately process sales transactions on Shopify POS.
Responsibly handle credit card transactions.
Assist in coordinating the breakdown of the retail shop for events.
Perform inventory counts as scheduled; and other related duties as assigned.
Create Social Media Content for Gray Matters Instagram to promote store visibility.
Successful candidates will bring an appreciation of the shopping experience, an enthusiasm for customer service and professional work habits.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Availability: 3 days per week.
Strong public-facing customer service skills.
Accurate payment handling skills.
Outgoing and professional attitude.
Previous POS and inventory experience.
Utmost attention to details.
Interest in shoes, craftsmanship, design & architecture.
Open availability, especially on weekends.
An appreciation of diverse audiences and work environments is essential.
BA preferred but not required.
Additional languages are a plus.

The Studio Assistant will support the company founder running all administrative aspects of the office and managing special projects.
We are looking for somebody detail-oriented, resourceful, constantly maintaining a professional and positive attitude.
This is a great opportunity to for a recent graduate that is looking to have hands-on experience on all aspects of running a brand.
The role requires impeccable communication skills and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a skillful and timely fashion.
RESPONSIBILITIES
OPERATIONS
Take full ownership of the day-to-day operations, independently initiate, organize, and implement systems and procedures to efficiently manage office operations.
Anticipate needs and ways of doing things that increase efficiency within the work environment.
Ensuring the office and storage is immaculate and reset at all times
Proactively manage office supplies and inventory.
Organize and set up showroom events and digital / offsite sample sales
LOGISTICS
Supervise and executes all inbound and outbound shipments ensuring the accuracy of all export documents (Commercial invoices, HTS code etc)
Manage samples inventory, tracking and trafficking
DIGITAL AND MARKETING
Coordinate in-house, in studio and on location photoshoots. Contribute to the selection of images and post production management.
Upload all new content in Shopify.
Brainstorm marketing ideas for newsletters, website and social media.
Assist in the execution of ideas using Adobe Creative Suite.
REQUIREMENTS
_Minimum availabilty: 3 days per week
_Punctual and reliable
_Impeccable organization and time management skills
_ Working knowledge of Indesign, Photoshop, MS Word and Excel, Shopify.
_Empathetic with a positive energy
_Hands on attitude. Helps store team when required.
_Multi-tasker, able to use discretionary judgment working independently.
_ Balance quality with efficiency
_Must be intuitive, able to anticipate needs and develop options. Executes special requests and troubleshoots as required.
